. . . and yet she’s still on pre-paid.
Yes, that’s right, folks. I don’t know whether or not I’ve told you this before — I think I have — in any case, my new employment requires me to sell cell phones and do various phone activations during Back-to-School Season 2011. Apparently, from what I’ve heard, it’s bigger than Christmas. Everything’s running smoothly (so far), except that I had to bug my manager to give me the required phone service sales log-in.
Two things I’ve learned:
- Sales representatives for mobile phone service provides don’t earn a lot from selling just cell phones. Even if we sell ten $600-phones outright, what we get as commission from them is nothing compared to completing two phone activations with a plan/contract. Now that I think about it, that totally makes sense.
- Because of the, uh, location of the store, it is very, very common to get at least one drug dealer a day looking for pre-paid phones.
